Work has now finished on the sandsheep project. Local residents and visitors to the town helped construct a sculpture to celebrate the reopening of the countryside and the resillience of the local community following last year's foot and mouth epidemic. Working with the resident artist, Kate Robinson, and supporting artists from foldgallery, three and a half tonnes of local red sand were transformed into this site specific piece. The final work will stand for the next few days until the sculptures collapse under their own weight as they dry out.
