Bone China

(Dimensions variable )

Hundreds of figures, randomly placed in the spaces beneath the boardwalk. Unprotected and cracked, look down as you cross.

on the banks of the River Eden, Lazonby

throughout

NY 565 386

From the car park by Eden bridge Lazonby, on B6413,cross bridge, and follow footpath by side of river. Work  is  near  Lacy's  Caves.
Alternatively  walk  along  the  river  from  Little  Salkeld.

Hundreds  of  figures  randomly  placed  in  the  gaps  between  the  planks  of  wood  will  lie  on  the  long  boardwalk  snaking  between  the  trees  beside  the  River  Eden.  Beneath  is  the  muddy  footpath.
Formed  from  a  small  ball  of  clay  and  showing  the  marks  of  the  makers  hands,  these  will  be  a  creation  in  another  Eden.  Bone  ash,  local  clay  and  earth  used  for  the  mix  are  the  life  and  death  of  all  peoples.  Far  from  perfect,  they  will  be  covered  with  dirt  filled  cracks  and  breaks - some  lying  awkwardly,  some  at  peace,  others  attempting  to  escape,  but  all  held  in  their  boxes  beneath  your  feet.
Look  down  or  get  down;  pick  up  or  re-position.  When  has  there  ever  been  a  world  of  respect  and  kindness?  - we  forget.
