Feather Flotsam Plastizote (dimensions: 3 metres X 1.7metres approx. ) Giant feather fallen upon the water, seeming to have been plucked from the air and destined to float with the wind. |
Tarn Hows nr. Coniston throughout SD 328 997 3 km northeast of Coniston and 2.5 km northwest of Hawkshead |

Found upon the Tarn is a giant white feather floating on the surface and moving freely across the water in the direction that the wind dictates. Imitating the ‘transitory’ in nature and seeming somewhat ephemeral, the feather appears as a sort of enigma, but in contradiction it is produced as an artificial man-made effect; like flotsam in return, and will be controlled and affected finally by the changing elements alone. |
