The drawing is made from stones and rocks found in the surrounding hillside, which have been dipped in a chalk slurry sourced from a local quarry at Shap. The drawing of Stones then emerged at that moment in response to its surroundings and the energy of the land, the stones being laid to the rhythms and pattern of the land at that time.
