28th September 7pm Tony Charles will give a talk about his ephemeral floor intervention ‘vestiges’ Which for the duration of FRED is located across the road in Shaddonmill. Lecture room, Caldewgate Campus, University of Cumbria, Carlisle Directions: Kendal Road. Follow signs to University of Cumbria Caldewgate campus then FRED signs to lecture room. |

Sunday 30th September 1pm Sally Barker will take walkers on a guided tour of her sculptures at Stickle Ghyll. Meet at Stickle Barn Tavern, Langdale at 1pm (why not have lunch or a late breakfast there first?). We'll walk up the Ghyll (suitable footwear recommended), and see the pieces made in situ and hear Sally talk about them. Sally has been in FRED before and her talks have always been a highlight. Tuesday 2nd October Gareth Kennedy will talk about his piece ‘Weathercube’ in which the public are invited to enjoy a steam sauna in a transparent box while floating on a pristine Cumbrian lake Ullswater, precise location TBC. Details from Ullswater Steamers |
