FRED - it's an art invasion

Gordon Cullerne

Hidden Memories Past:Present

As a young child the artist holidayed in Coniston every year and it was here that the desire to be a photographer took hold. Exploring these childhood memories the artist makes small canvases using these first photographs and combining them with images and text from where he is now showing how he has changed. The canvasses have been rolled up like scrolls and placed in the gaps in an old stone wall, awaiting their audience. The artist maintains his childlike view of the world, that wonder when looking at things, because of his art and states,

"It was that amazement that made me want to record what I see.
